POWERFUL DRAMA REAPS BIG REWARDS
FATHER’S DAY PICKS UP THREE GONGS AT THE LA REEL FILM AWARDS
A short film, which was shot in Guildford and explores the reasons why so many parents take the lives of their own children, has wowed critics at an American film festival.
Father's Day, which stars Pirates of the Caribbiean actor Kevin R McNally and Surrey-based actor and producer Toby Richards, picked up three gongs at the LA Reel Film Awards including Best Actor, Best Narrative Short and Best Screenplay.
The 15-minute movie, which was also nominated for a further six awards, was filmed mainly in Guildford and Pirbright and follows the story of a man called Joe, who finds himself on the verge of committing the most heinous crime possible - killing his own son.
